It’s Jakki here, your loyal canine co-coach, ready to share some wisdom on managing life’s pressures.
Many of the humans my mom coaches are highly responsible, high-potential individuals who carry more than their share of the world’s weight… until the dam breaks. They spend their days in “just get through it” mode, tolerating jobs, cultures, or home situations while suppressing their frustrations. This often happens because:
1️⃣ Society tells them to control their emotions. 2️⃣ They feel the need to be strong for others. 3️⃣ They’re ashamed they can’t manage it all. 4️⃣ They feel guilty for burdening others with their challenges. … and many more reasons.
Let me tell you about a common client experience. Since confidentiality is key to psychological safety (and ICF compliance), I’ll use a metaphor.
Meet Luna, a hardworking rescue dog who feels she must do it all, worried that if she doesn’t, she’ll lose love and respect. Through coaching, Luna realized this was her “Gremlin” talking, the voice of her scared inner puppy. She recognized that she’s unconditionally valued by her family, and the relief was visible. She now feels free to rest when needed instead of constantly proving her worth.
Does this sound familiar? We all have our “Luna moments.” It’s important to let go of that internal pressure and ask for what we need.
If this resonates with you and you’re ready for help in this area, let’s talk.
