🐾 Jakki’s Corner: A Pup’s Guide to Leading in a System
Jakki here — your canine co‑coach, Chief Sniffing Officer, and unofficial emotional support strategist.
I’ve been watching all this talk about systems, complexity, and leadership evolution from my favorite spot on my coaching couch. And let me tell you… you humans are doing great. Truly. But I’ve noticed something important:
You often try to solve big, interconnected problems by focusing on one tiny piece at a time — like trying to understand the whole backyard by sniffing just one blade of grass.
From a dog’s perspective, leadership is always a system:
– The energy in the room affects the pack.
– The pack affects the environment.
– The environment affects the next move.
It’s all connected.
That’s why I love SHIFT™. It teaches you the human version of what I do naturally:
– Sense the Alarm: “Something’s shifting.”
– Honor the Human: “It’s okay to feel this.”
– Inquire with Curiosity: “Is this a real threat or just a rustling leaf?”
– Find Your Footing: “Deep breath. Four paws grounded.”
– Track a Visible Action: “Move forward with intention.”
Humans forget they have choices when emotions surge.
Dogs never forget — we just sometimes choose chaos for fun.
So as you evolve your leadership this year, remember:
You’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
You’re not missing anything.
You’re simply learning to lead in a bigger, more interconnected world — one thoughtful step (or paw print) at a time.
I’ll be right here, tail wagging, cheering you on.
Love,
Jakki
