🐾 A Gremlin Tale from Jakki

Rescue dog. Co-coach. Inner critic whisperer.

Hi friends, it’s me—Jakki.
When I first joined Heather’s pack, I had a Gremlin the size of a Great Dane. Her name was Skitter. She told me things like:
šŸ—£ļø ā€œThe world is loud and dangerous.ā€
šŸ—£ļø ā€œDon’t trust the sidewalk.ā€
šŸ—£ļø ā€œStay small. Stay quiet. Stay safe.ā€
Skitter wasn’t trying to be mean. She was trying to protect me—from honking cars, sudden movements, and memories I couldn’t explain. But her voice kept me from exploring, connecting, and walking tall.

So Heather and I did what we now teach in our workshops:
We promoted Skitter.

We gave her a new job:
āœ… To remind me I’m safe now.
āœ… To help me pause and scan—not panic.
āœ… To celebrate every brave step I take.
Now, when I walk down the street, I still hear her sometimes. But she’s softer. More curious. She’s become my inner guide, not my inner guard.
Gremlins don’t disappear. But with love, play, and a little coaching, they can evolve.
If your team has a few Skitters of their own, I know a great workshop.
(And yes, there’s confetti.)
